Installation Guides: Identify the Right Document
This page helps you identify product documents. It does not provide approved installation files or instructions.
Find the document that matches the product and components in your project. Start with the product reference, check the document’s scope and revision, and keep the relevant files together.
Which product and configuration do you have?
Record the lighting product reference and any separately selected power, control or mounting components. Include the order reference if the configuration was supplied for a particular project.
Does the document cover your configuration?
Check the products and configurations named in the document, together with its issue or revision. A product description or catalog entry is not a substitute for model-specific installation instructions.
If the product references or configurations differ, or the revision is unclear, write down the exact difference and the question it raises. A similar product name or a later document date alone does not establish that the file applies to your configuration.
What should you keep together?
Store the applicable product documents with the selected configuration and project correspondence so that the same references remain available during coordination and handover.
Create a document record
Make one entry for each document you have. If a document is missing, note that directly instead of assuming its title or revision.
- Product and configuration
- Record the product reference, separately selected components and order reference, if available.
- Document identity
- Retain the title, identifier, issue or revision, date and language as shown. Mark any missing identifier explicitly.
- Stated coverage
- Note the products and configurations named in the document and the page or section that states its scope.
- Unresolved mismatch
- Set out the two references or statements that do not agree, or name the scope or revision information that is missing.
- Clarification needed
- State which document-to-product match needs confirmation and retain any written clarification with the same record.
