Comparing catalog records while keeping the questions visible
Website updates · Development preview
Prepared . This date identifies this article's preparation, not a public launch date.
What changed
The catalog preview adds a selectable comparison to three existing product pages. Choose records from the page you are reading, then open the comparison to review their listed fields and specification notes together. The selection follows your choices rather than a ranking or a recommended combination.
The three pages retain their existing scope. All Products brings together the reviewed photographed records. Neon Flex contains the website's 24 V strip selection, while Linear Light contains its 220 V strip selection. These category names and voltage groupings do not establish construction, AC/DC classification, installation requirements or compatibility.
How to use the comparison
- Open All Products, Neon Flex or Linear Light. When the comparison controls appear, choose the Compare button labelled with the product code. You can select up to three records from that page.
- Choose Review comparison to read the selected records together. Read the labels, units and specification notes, not just the values that appear similar.
- Use a record's Remove control to make room for another, or Clear comparison to start again. A fourth selection does not replace one of your existing choices.
- On All Products, you can change search or filters, or reset them, without losing the current selection. A selected record can remain in the comparison even when it is outside the filtered results.
In the 11 October version described above, selection belonged to one page. Update, 15 October 2026: comparison now works across the product overview, four product categories and product details. Up to three product codes and the catalog version can stay in this browser tab during navigation and refresh. Clear comparison deletes the saved selection. If storage is blocked, the feature falls back to the current page. This is a development update, not a public launch announcement.
If comparison controls are unavailable, the ordinary detail links still let you read each record and its specification notes.
Keep missing information unresolved
A value marked Not specified is an open question. An unstated measurement basis remains unstated, and similar names or photographs do not show that two records are interchangeable. Comparison does not establish product ranking, equivalence, confirmed availability, compatibility or suitability for a particular application.
For example, if two records list a power value but the measurement basis is unclear, retain the exact wording with each product code and ask what the values describe. Do not calculate a performance conclusion by assuming the missing basis is the same. This is a reading example, not a new claim about either product.
Different tools for different reading tasks
The selectable comparison is separate from the fixed two-record COB Strip comparison. The latter keeps its own defined selection. The Catalog FAQ explains the comparison controls alongside the existing catalog navigation.
A document-enabled version of this preview also contains Product Parameter Summary PDFs and a Catalog Comparison Worksheet. The summaries preserve individual catalog statements and their limitations. The worksheet provides a worked comparison and a blank page for handwritten notes on a printed copy. These resources do not turn catalog statements into independent test results or approved installation instructions. This update does not add documents or change their scope.
Continue with the source record
Open the full detail page for each product under consideration. Keep its code, listed wording and the unanswered question together. The Technical Support guide helps organize a product question when information remains missing.
