Start with the question you need to answer. These reading paths connect lighting terminology with a practical way to review evidence, from controls and optical documentation to temperature and lifetime claims.

What needs to communicate or report data?
Choose this path when your question concerns controls, operating data and component interfaces. The LED technology article introduces those topics through attributed industry references and a separately labelled external project example.
Reading question: which component and information requirement are you trying to verify? Keep that question beside the article while reading, then identify the product-specific evidence still needed.
Read LED technology referencesWhat does the optical evidence describe?
Choose this path to explore beam-angle definitions, distribution information and the LED/optic combination. The Optical Design article separates these topics and links to the terminology and manufacturer explanations behind them.
Reading question: are you reviewing a term, a diagram or evidence for a particular combination? Note which question each document addresses before comparing its information with another record.
Read optical design referencesWhat was tested, and what is projected?
Choose this path for temperature locations, test conditions and lifetime-claim scope. The Thermal Management article organizes these distinctions using manufacturer education and a dated industry position statement; it identifies the historical standard editions discussed.
Reading question: what result are you looking at, and what does its supporting document actually cover? Keep the reported conditions and the object of the claim together in your notes.
Read thermal management referencesWhat does the measurement or color evidence answer?
Choose this path for measurement scope, stated conditions and overall or hue-specific color-rendition information. The Testing & Quality article introduces public industry descriptions and an editorial evidence-reading checklist.
Reading question: which quantity or color question does the document address, and what remains unresolved for the item you are reviewing?
Read testing and quality referencesWhat belongs inside the environmental evidence boundary?
Choose this path for environmental declarations, life-cycle boundaries and questions about lifetime and replacement. The Sustainability article separates attributed public explanations from an editorial evidence-reading record.
Reading question: which exact item, period, conditions and covered stages belong with the claim, and which supporting information is still missing?
Read sustainability evidence referencesHow do a study's laboratory and field records fit together?
Choose this path to follow an attributed lighting study through sample histories, observation windows and interpretation limits. The Lighting Research article separates its historical source from an original editorial reading exercise.
Reading question: which observations support the statement you are reviewing, and what would be needed before applying it elsewhere?

Editorial checklist: use these questions to organize a technical-document review across these topics.
- Identify the subject. Record the exact model or component, the document title and document revision. Is the document about the item you are evaluating?
- Name the kind of evidence. Is this a catalog statement, a measured result, a projection or certification evidence? Keep those descriptions separate in your notes.
- Keep the boundaries visible. What conditions and scope accompany the claim? Record any stated duration, edition or configuration, and mark missing information as unresolved.
- Prepare the next question. List what the documents leave unresolved. For a TaoGroup product question, include the product code and the specific information you want to clarify when you contact TaoGroup.
This checklist is document-reading guidance, not an installation procedure or product approval. It does not imply that any particular test report, certificate or other supporting document is available for a listed product.
